Graduating from Glasgow Dental School back in 1991, Shiona worked at Glasgow Dental School in oral surgery and oral medicine before completing vocational training in general practice. Returning to the hospital side of dentistry Shiona worked in London and Glasgow in Maxillofacial surgery, oral surgery and oral radiology gaining her fellowship in oral surgery, before commencing a doctorate in oral medicine.

After a career break to establish her family, Shiona returned to General Practice in 2014, joining Links Dental Practice in 2017. Shiona likes working with anxious patients and enjoys straightening teeth with clear aligners and composite bonding to make great smiles. Shiona keeps up with CPD, attending regular courses and is a member of the Pathfinder Study Club.

Shiona is married to Paul (30 years and counting) during which they lived in 16 homes and 5 countries. They have four grown children, two of which have gotten married in the last few years. Shiona has too many interests to fit into the week. She loves gardening, art and hillwalking. As an active member of Charlotte Chapel (where her husband is the minister) she is involved in various aspects of church life as well as catering for many guests in their home. Her pulled pork is a favourite recipe. She is enjoying art lessons from one of her neighbours when she gets a moment and would like to find time to do more painting and sculpture.

Shiona used to be a keen skier and would love get back to it – snow in Scotland permitting! A relaxed day is a walk with their spaniel Bronte in the hills followed by sitting by the fire doing puzzles.

Incredibly good results working with Sam Lockhart using clear aligners to straighten my wonky teeth - 7 months and we’re done and dusted, my teeth are lovely and straight, I’m way less awkward about my smile . Would highly recommend.

All of the staff are always really friendly and professional. This morning I saw Moon, the Hygienist, very ably assisted by Bethany, the Dental technician. They worked together effortlessly, never bumping into each other and making the whole procedure pain free and comfortable. I never felt like I was drowning, my gums and tongue where never sucked into the aspirator, and my teeth feel great afterwards. I am really lucky to have such a talented team so close to my home.

Having just had a wisdom tooth removed I can honestly say the whole experience was most definitely a positive one. Mr. Ross took lots of time to explain the procedure knowing i was somewhat nervous. After a short period of time the offending tooth was removed completely painlessly. I am so impressed. I can only speak highly of Links Dental Practice and all of the friendly and helpful staff. I've only had 2 courses of treatment so far from Jasmine but have found her to be friendly, efficient and informative. She conducts her business very professionally but with a very good 'bedside manner', thus making the patient feel relaxed and confident. A very positive experience so far with my new dentist - keep up the good work!I originally posted the above about a year ago but can now confirm (having had several courses of treatment) that Jasmine has lived up to my expectations and initial assessment. She is a very good dentist, has a great reassuring manner and I have great respect for her. Jasmine and Bethany are a very good team, conducting business in an efficient and friendly way. All good!

Ed is the best dentist that I’ve ever had and I’ve had many after being given Tetracycline as a child which took the enamel from my adult teeth. He is very sympathetic to those people who are scared of the needle and drill. He works fast and efficiently whilst still allowing the patient to rest. I really can’t fault anything. He explains every procedure and helps you to make an informed decision which is best for you. He truly is the best.

My new dentist Jasmine wss friendly and welcoming.She took great trouble to check all my teeth (gently) and showed me them on a screen(fascinating) whilst explaining the work which needed to be done.Because I could clearly see my teeth..this all made sense to me.While lying back in the dentist's chair i also enjoyed watching a gorgeous travel film of Italy (no sound) which was v relaxing.I would highly recommend.

I want to extend my sincerest thanks to Sam Lockhart (supremely decent, gifted dentist), Sammy (trainee assistant who is better than most trained assistants and with a truly caring approach to her profession) and the lovely receptionist from Asturias. You chaps saved my Christmas. We never met before and we may never meet again, but this was the most positively unforgettable visit to a dental surgery I have ever had in more than sixty years. I went to Links Dental Practice for help, as for many years I was scared of dentists and my teeth were in very bad condition. I had a very friendly chat with Louise and on the same day I met Sam Lockhart. He is an amazing dentist with a great approach to patients. He made me feel comfortable and we arranged the process of fixing my smile. During every visit I was completely informed of what the plan was and what was going on, all procedures were painless. I have been with this practice many years and have had excellent service. Being in Denplan I was given all the treatment I have needed. The only problem was in lock down due to the restrictions on dentists, but that is the fault of the Scottish Government and not the practice.

Without a doubt the best dental practice I've been to. Dr Sam Lockhart and Claire were genuinely excellent. They were aware of me being a nervous patient, they didn't rush and explained everything along the way for a tooth filling 🦷 The whole process was smooth and pain free, they first use a numbing gel, then the actual local anaesthetic so you don't get the pain of injecting the anesthetic in the first place. They were happy to play music in the room to distract me from the drilling which was really helpful. As a private practice, they can be expensive, but for someone like myself who is nervous who avoided dentists for sometime, it's worth paying to get the attention and care. Overall, I strongly recommend them.
