Welcome

Coronavirus Covid 19 Updates

Update 9th of July

As you may be aware the Scottish Government have advised that Dental Practices can restart a reduced dental service from Monday 13th July.

Due to the rescheduling of appointments during the closure and to adhere to social distancing guidelines there is a limited number of appointments available, therefore you may need to wait longer than usual to be seen.

If we have already rescheduled your check up appointment please do not contact us regarding this at present, we will be in touch with you if it is possible to offer you an earlier appointment.

We have also been advised that doing ‘Aerosol Generating Procedures’ such as using the drill or water scaler, will still not be possible at this time. If you require this type of treatment we will contact you when this is permitted.

Can we remind you that when you attend the Practice for an appointment you will find it looks quite different;

·       You will be asked to come at the time of your appointment, please do not come early. If you do you may be asked to wait outside or in your vehicle.

·        Where possible please attend alone & do not bring any personal belongings

·        The door to the practice will be locked, please make yourself known when you arrive

·        You will be expected to wear a face covering & use our hand hygiene station

·        We will be operating contactless arrivals and departures, your forms will be sent to you to complete prior to attending your appointment as part of your email or text message reminder

·        There will be no toilet facilities available

·        Please can we ask you to pay using a card or contactless method

We look forward to entering this next phase and are pleased to be moving another step down the road to normality.

  • You may not be able to see your own registered Dentist in the usual surgery
  • Where possible please attend alone
  • The door to the practice will be locked, please ring the bell when you arrive
  • You will be expected to use our hand hygiene station when entering & leaving the practice
  • We will be operating contactless arrivals and departures, your forms will be sent to you to complete prior to attending for your appointment
  • There will be no toilet facilities available
  • Please can we ask for you to pay using a card or contactless method

Update 26th of May 2020

Whilst we unfortunately still do not know exactly when we will be able to reopen the Practice, there is now additional capacity for patients to be seen at the designated Dental Hubs for non-urgent dental emergencies. This will include lost fillings causing extreme sensitivity, re-cementation of crowns and bridges that have come out (where possible), management of less severe dental pain and repair of broken dentures and additions to dentures for people who have had teeth extracted.

If you feel that you have any of the above issues, then please contact us on the usual practice phone number 0131 447 6606.

We are now in the process of rebooking June appointments again we are doing this via email where possible so please do look out for an email from us with a new appointment.

We will continue to update you on a possible date for us to reopen as soon as we have been given guidance from the Chief Dental Officer and the Scottish Government that it is safe to do so.

We do hope to be able to see you all again soon and want to thank you all for your patience and continuing support.

Update 28th of April 2020

We are still available Monday- Friday between 09:00 and 18:00 to help with any queries or dental concerns you may have however, unfortunately we have no further information regarding when we will be allowed to reopen.

We will endeavour to keep our patients up to date with any new guidance as and when this becomes available. We appreciate your frustrations regarding your dental health during these difficult times and we hope to be able to treat you again as soon as possible.

At the moment we are rescheduling appointments for April and early May via email so please do look out for an email from us with a new appointment.

Thank you for your continued patience and support during this period.

Update 25th of March 2020

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and in accordance with instructions from the Scottish Government and the Chief Dental Officer, only patients with severe symptoms of infection, bleeding or trauma will be seen for emergency dental treatment at the present time. If you are experiencing severe pain you may be asked to take medication for 48 hours and to phone back if symptoms persist.

Within the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 please do call us on our normal phone number of 0131 447 6606 and one of our Dental team will be able to give you help and advice.

Update 24th of March 2020

It is with regret that due to the most recent Government guidance we have had to close the Practice. We will be closed from Monday 23rd of March until further notice.

If you have an upcoming appointment one of our administrative team will be in touch with you to rearrange this. Please be patient with us if you are struggling to get through, we are running with a limited amount of staff. If you have a dental emergency during our normal office hours please do call us on 0131 447 6606 and our team will triage your symptoms and give you advice or if necessary be seen at a local dental community center. Outwith our normal office hours call NHS 24 on 111.
