What are Veneers?

The technique involves taking impressions of your teeth and getting laboratory made, custom bleaching trays. Tooth whitening gel is then applied to the trays which are fitted to the teeth.

The trays hold the gel on the teeth and with time the teeth lighten. The more often you apply the gel the lighter the teeth will go. 

Cosmetic Bonding

What is it and why is it so popular?

Cosmetic bonding, often called resin bonding, is when a tooth-coloured resin is bonded to your teeth, then sculpted into the proper shape. The resin is a composite of liquid acrylic and tiny particles of glass. The composite resin forms a durable, stain-resistant surface that can be polished to mimic the texture of your natural teeth.

Composite bonding involves applying a tooth coloured composite resin material to your existing teeth. The resin is moulded by your dentist so that it creates a perfect match with your surrounding teeth. It is used across the world for whitening or masking discoloured teeth, improving cosmetic structure, filling dental gaps and repairing broken or fractured teeth. All in all, composite bonding is a perfect solution for solving minor dental imperfections.

Digital Smile Design (DSD)

Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a modern approach to cosmetic dentistry that uses advanced technology to design a customized, aesthetically pleasing smile for patients. It is a process that involves taking digital images and videos of the patient’s face, mouth, and teeth, and using specialized software to create a 3D model of the patient’s smile.

DSD allows dentists to analyze the patient’s facial and dental characteristics and create a virtual simulation of the final outcome, allowing the patient to see how their new smile will look before any treatment begins. This helps to ensure that the patient is satisfied with the end result and that the treatment plan is tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

The DSD process may include a variety of cosmetic dental treatments, such as teeth whitening, dental bonding, porcelain veneers, dental implants, and orthodontic treatment, among others. I’ve had an excellent experience with Dr Jasmine and Links Dental Practice.Having recently moved to Edinburgh I hadn’t yet organised a dentist when I suffered a broken tooth. A friend recommended Links dental practice and they were able to see me very quickly.Dr Jasmine and Bethany were able to patch things up immediately, allowing me to enjoy Christmas. Dr Jasmine explained the treatment options and talked me through a treatment plan. This was reassuring for me as someone who suffers from dental anxiety. I found the team very patient, empathetic and caring. They had very high standards in delivering the treatment, taking time to achieve a perfect bite and regularly checking I was satisfied with the results. The tooth is now fully repaired (I didn’t think this would be possible) and has allowed me to enjoy meals again.The reception staff are always very organised and welcoming and the late opening times are very convenient.

A crown popped out after a couple of days of tender niggling leaving a hole into the root. I was very fortunate to get an ‘unscheduled’ appointment the day after calling in about it, though not with my usual dentist as she was on annual leave.Dr/Mr Ross was so kind and gentle, probing in exactly the right spots with his instrument- I knew I was in the hands of an experienced expert. All of the staff are always really friendly and professional. This morning I saw Moon, the Hygienist, very ably assisted by Bethany, the Dental technician. They worked together effortlessly, never bumping into each other and making the whole procedure pain free and comfortable.
