Professional information

Sam graduated as a dentist from Glasgow Dental Hospital in 2015. He completed a year as a vocational trainee before going on to do 2 further years in hospital positions.

He spent 6 months providing treatment for anxious children and medically compromised patients in Arbroath. After this he spent a further 6 months in Dundee Dental Hospital supervising students, carrying out oral surgery, restorative and paediatric procedures as well as emergency dentistry. Further to this he undertook a year post in the Queen Elizabeth Maxillofacial department in Glasgow for 1 year. This involved carrying out oral surgery and taking referral from other dentists for difficult extractions. It also involved looking after patients with oral cancer and those with trauma to the head and neck from the A&E department.

Subsequently he moved to Edinburgh and for the past 5 years has enjoyed working in general practice. He is a comprehensive Invisalign provider which means he can straighten teeth with aligners. He is currently undertaking a diploma in dental implants. At Links Dental Practice he enjoys working with his patients to improve their dental health. He enjoys using the modern technology such as the intra-oral scanner and intra-oral cameras to communicate with patients. He enjoys keeping up to date with cutting edge technology by attending monthly CPD sessions covering all aspects of rapidly evolving dentistry.

Sam has a number of interests outside dentistry. He enjoys trying to keep fit by playing football weekly and going to the gym. He also enjoys watching rugby and football and supports Manchester United.

He enjoys dining out with his lovely partner Clare when he gets the chance. Together they enjoy travelling and exploring new countries and cultures.

“Hate to say it but Dr Sam is the best!!!! But I am biased I know. He has spent hours doing very awkward and tricky treatments in my mouth and I just sit there totally relaxed knowing he is working gently and efficiently on my mouth and transforming my smile, so I now dare smile!! I had suffered from toothache for a few weeks and previous dentist could not find anything wrong after several appointments. I am a terrified of dental procedures due to past traumatic experiences hence why I phoned Links Dental Practice as they specialise in pain-free dentistry and helping scared anxious/scared patients. I secured a ‘tooth crisis audit’ appointment within 24hrs. The receptionist who answered the phone could not have been more supportive and empathetic. Within a few minutes of my assessment the problem was found and then repaired. Dr Jennie Farss was an exemplar of compassion, understanding, gentleness and clinical expertise. And yes the procedure was pain free and I no longer have toothache. What a relief… and I have now joined the practice as a new patient. Thank you.

Highly recommend!I called the practice because I had a really bad toothache, and they kindly gave me an appointment on the same day, which I really appreciated.I thought they would just check the tooth, tell me what the problem was, and give me some pain relief. But Dr Sam and April made sure I did not leave in pain. They spent much more time with me than planned and completed the full treatment on the same day. I have honestly never experienced this before, and it meant so much to me.Dr Sam is a very kind, attentive, and caring doctor. I cannot recommend this practice enough! From the friendly reception team to the excellent dentists, everyone at Links makes the comfort of your visit a priority. I was a patient of Jasmine’s at her previous practice and when she moved I did to - which is a huge testament to the way she makes every visit as calm and as pain free as possible. As a nervous patient Jasmine’s friendly and calm nature makes each visit a positive. During childhood I had many fillings and some negative experiences at the dentist but with each visit to Links I feel less and less anxious. I fully trust Jasmine and her team to not only provide me with the best dental care but to be honest and really listen to me! Hello,My experience with Links Dental Practice was very positive.I was reluctant to go to the dentist after years of putting it off, but finally felt it simply had to be done.The receptionists were extremely kind friendly and welcoming 💜My dentist was called Apil, he was very skilled and competent, he took the time to explain to me on every appointment, what treatment needed to be done, and why, which was reassuring to hear.He also showed me the dental work/photos and x-raysthat had been successfully completed during my treatment.I also had an appointment with a very caring and supportive hygienist called Moon. I recently completed a course of teeth whitening treatment followed by a composite veneer at Links Dental practice. My dentist is Apil and the dental nurse Addy. Over the past year and a half, Sam has been nothing short of fantastic—professional, approachable, and incredibly supportive throughout the whole process.From the beginning, he helped me put together a financial plan that worked for me, and was always open, honest, and clear about what to expect at every stage. I've been coming to Links Dental Practice for over three years now, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services.I'm often in to see the dentist Sam (who is excellent!), but I'd also like to give a shout-out to Moon, one of their dental hygienists (and her assistant Ellie). I've seen Moon for several appointments, and she is exceptional. As someone with sensitive teeth and gums, Moon is always incredibly attentive and I feel genuinely comfortable throughout our appointments.Overall, Links DP is a reliable and caring practise in the area, and if you need a hygienist, I highly recommend booking an appointment with Moon – you won't be disappointed! ☺️

I’ve had an excellent experience with Dr Jasmine and Links Dental Practice.Having recently moved to Edinburgh I hadn’t yet organised a dentist when I suffered a broken tooth. A friend recommended Links dental practice and they were able to see me very quickly.Dr Jasmine and Bethany were able to patch things up immediately, allowing me to enjoy Christmas. Dr Jasmine explained the treatment options and talked me through a treatment plan. This was reassuring for me as someone who suffers from dental anxiety. I found the team very patient, empathetic and caring. They had very high standards in delivering the treatment, taking time to achieve a perfect bite and regularly checking I was satisfied with the results. The tooth is now fully repaired (I didn’t think this would be possible) and has allowed me to enjoy meals again.The reception staff are always very organised and welcoming and the late opening times are very convenient.
